Bukit Jalil on an event night: getting to TM Stadium Nasional and Unifi Arena, and where to stay
TM Stadium Nasional, Unifi Arena and the National Hockey Stadium share one precinct at Bukit Jalil, and the run from November into the new year is packed. This is how the precinct works on an event night: the train in, the walk from the station, and the districts that make sense for the stay.
Most of Kuala Lumpur's large event calendar happens in one place. TM Stadium Nasional, Unifi Arena and the National Hockey Stadium sit together in the Bukit Jalil sports precinct, and this calendar lists 18 events at those venues, from LANY at Unifi Arena on Sunday 1 November 2026 and The Weeknd's two stadium nights on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November, through My Chemical Romance on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 November and Evanescence at the National Hockey Stadium on Saturday 28 November, to BTS on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December and the Malaysia Open badminton at Unifi Arena in January 2027. Learn the precinct once and every one of those nights gets easier. Dates above are the confirmed listings on this site; where a listing is labelled tentative, its event page says so.
Getting there: take the LRT
Bukit Jalil LRT station, on the Sri Petaling line, is a short walk from both the stadium and the arena doors, and it is comfortably the fastest way in and out on an event night. KL Sentral is the hub to aim for from the rest of the network, and from the airport the KLIA Ekspres reaches KL Sentral in 28 minutes. A Touch 'n Go card works at every gate on the LRT, MRT, monorail and Komuter lines. Driving is possible and the precinct parking is extensive, but the car parks fill early and the roads out after a stadium show are slow: the pattern regulars follow is to park further out, or not at all, and let the train do the last stretch.
Where to stay
Three bases cover almost every event night. KLCC and Bukit Bintang suit a first visit and anyone building a city trip around the show: the towers, the malls and the monorail on the doorstep, with the LRT running out to Bukit Jalil for the event. The hotels around Sri Petaling and Old Klang Road serve the precinct itself and cut the trip home to minutes. Brickfields, by KL Sentral, is the practical pick if you are arriving by train or on the KLIA Ekspres and leaving early the next morning. The hotels page on this site sets out the Kuala Lumpur bases with the hotel search for each.
On the night
Arrive earlier than feels necessary. Stadium and arena nights concentrate the whole crowd into the same hour, the security checks take the time they take, and the walk from Bukit Jalil station is part of the evening rather than a queue to beat. Eat before you go into the precinct if the meal matters, and keep the return simple: back to the LRT station with the crowd, and let the city end of the line decide where the night finishes.
